Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord, you his servants;
praise the name of the Lord.
Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
The Lord is exalted over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God,
the One who sits enthroned on high,
who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
he seats them with princes,
with the princes of his people.
He settles the childless woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the Lord.
~Psalm 113
It’s before dawn.
All is quiet.
All is new.
A fresh beginning.
A fresh Word.
I’m drawn to Psalm 113:
“Praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord, you his servants;
praise the name of the Lord.
Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore.
From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.”
A song of praise rises in my heart, too.
I thank God for this sacred time with Him. Free of noise, worries, and distractions.
I praise Him for this daily reminder of His resurrection. I claim this power for me, as I cling to Him.
“The Lord is exalted over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.
Who is like the Lord our God,
the One who sits enthroned on high,
who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;
he seats them with princes,
with the princes of his people.”
Day breaks, bursting forth in vivid color and nature sound. I’m reminded that He restores, redeems, and heals! He sees us in our state and blesses us. He’s a God who cares for all of His creation.
Thank you for my children, gifted to me, still safely snug in their beds. The light brings life and laughter but for now, there’s only stillness with Him.
“He settles the childless woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the Lord.”
That’s me, Lord. Thank you. Thank YOU!
The day is here.
