We were made to be courageous –
We are powerful, even in weakness,
as we are fearfully and wonderfully made, prepared for good works.

In courage and boldness, let’s reclaim the truth of our God given identity.
•
We are powerful because Christ, the hope of glory, lives in us. The Good Shepherd laid down His life so we “may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10)

We’ve been given wisdom and power. (Daniel 2)
•
We are His handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God created in advance for us to do. We don’t lose heart.
“Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
~2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Later in 2 Corinthians, God tells Paul that His grace is sufficient for Paul, for God’s power is made perfect in weakness. Paul went on to say that “I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

How does this speak to us today?
•
We are children of God, and the same God that split the Red Sea in two … lives in us. That’s His power and greatness.

We were made to be courageous. We are powerful, even in weakness, as we are fearfully and wonderfully made, prepared for good works. Amen.
